Description
Leather manufacture consists of preparatory, tanning and crusting stages. Raw leather can be obtained from multiple animals and is prepared by removing unwanted raw skin components and pretreating the skin. Tanning process uses chemicals that convert raw skin into flexible, chemically resistant leather. Tanned leather is thinned, retanned and lubricated to produce the final material which is used to make leather footwear, garments and accessories.
