Description

Meteorology is a science which mostly relies on field-mode in situ observation and remote sensing equipment that samples the state of the atmosphere at a given time. A few centuries ago thermometers and barometers were the most advanced weather instruments of the time. Currently weather data is mostly gathered by weather stations that are equipped with a wide array of sensors. Barometers, thermometers, hygrometers, anemometers and rain gauges are present in nearly every weather station while more advanced models can additionally measure UV index, solar flux, soil temperature and many other parameters.
