Description

Surface tension () is a contractive tendency of the surface of a liquid that allows it to resist an external force and it is an important property that markedly influences the ecosystem. Tensiometers are used in research and development laboratories to determine the surface tension of liquids like coatings, lacquers or adhesives. A further application field of tensiometers is the monitoring of industrial production processes like parts’ cleaning or electroplating. Devices can be of goniometer/tensiometer, Du Noüy-Padday, Du Noüy ring, Wilhelmy plate or bubble pressure tensiometer type.
